HOME–an assemblage I created today. I filled it with objects that symbolize home to me. A home is so much more than the place where we live. Each home has its own Spirit, filled with sounds, smells, and memories. Every room has its own character, its own atmosphere, and its own love. Every person who enters a home, leaves their footprints.

Memories of my children and grandchildren when they were small and innocent–how they found joy in the smallest discoveries–how a single smile from them gave me hope–how amazing it was to experience the world from their innocent perspective. The world needs more of this.

Art Journal for today: Sugar and Spice. I ran across this photo today of my granddaughter at her birthday party when she was maybe 4 or 5. The sweetness of these little girls touched me. They are all teenagers now! But we always carry that innocence in our hearts.
Finally finished this diptych today. Title: Find Your Thread. It has one of my favorite quotes from Sue Monk Kidd, in her book, Dance of the Dissident Daughter. Difficult to see all the texture in the white area, but if you enlarge it, you’ll see it.
